Dishoom

Dishoom is one of my favourite restaurants! Chain restaurants are usually better for people with allergies, however a lot of chains tend to (in my opinion) lack originality and authenticity. Dishoom however has an outstanding menu alongside a fantastic atmosphere. The interior decor alongside the food makes going there a fully immersive, and fantastic, experience.

Dishoom has menus for both gluten free diners and those with dairy intolerances, alongside a vegan menu too. Whilst I personally suffer from a severe milk allergy (as opposed to an intolerance), it’s one of the few places I still feel confident eating at, due to the level of care the staff take and the allergen matrix available.

If you’re the same as me and are unable to eat dairy and gluten there isn’t an abundance of options, however the last few times I’ve been a flexitarian and had the Mutton Pepper Fry - it is DIVINE. 10/10 would recommend!

They also have a DF + GF dessert - the Basmati Kheer (see the pic below). This is a silky smooth and creamy rice pudding, topped with blueberry compôte. It’s absolutely delicious and so so lovely being able to go out to a restaurant and have dessert! The last time I visited the staff even gave me this pudding for free 🙌🏽

Dishoom are also involved in charity work and for every meal they serve, they donate a meal to a child who would otherwise go hungry.

I can’t sing Dishooms praises highly enough. The service is always fabulous, the food is delicious, they’re involved in some fantastic philanthropy and they cater for those of us with allergies. If you haven’t been yet I would definitely recommend going as soon as possible!
